Dale Kisker
Beloved Teacher, Coach, and Friend
Dale was born on January 22, 1960 in Leavenworth, Kan. He was the son of Wilfred and Mary (Singer) Kisker. He was a graduate of West Platte High School, Weston, Mo., and Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, where he also played baseball. Dale was a First Team All-Conference MAIA Pitcher in 1982. He received second Team Honors in 1981. He currently ranks first in program history in career ERA and shutouts and second in wins and complete games. Dale married Tammy Bryan on May 17, 1981 in Tarkio, Mo. He was a teacher in Lawson, West Platte, Pleasant Hill, and Nodaway-Holt, all in Missouri, before coming to teach at Maryville High School. Dale served the Maryville school district as a math teacher and girls' basketball coach. Upon moving to Maryville, he rejoined the NWMSU baseball team as a coach for four years. He was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church, where he served as an Elder and taught Sunday School. His faith was evident in every aspect of his life: as a husband, father, teacher, friend and coach. Dale touched lives in a meaningful way in all that he did. |
